GRE Summer Party 2026 – All Locations Together in Dresden

| News

German Rail Engineering brought together its entire workforce from all locations for the 2026 summer party in Dresden. The evening combined a tour of one of Germany's most historic cities with an important announcement about the company's expansion to Barcelona.

For this year's summer party, German Rail Engineering invited all staff from across its locations to Dresden. The evening took the team through the historic old town, along the Elbe on board a historic paddle steamer, and on to the evening venue at the Altes Pumpenhaus at the City Harbour. Location manager and co-organiser Markus Reypka accompanied the group with a guided tour of the city, offering insights into Dresden's rich architectural and cultural history.

During the evening, managing directors Dr. Jens Unger and Jörg Meitzner took the opportunity to announce an important step in the company's development: German Rail Engineering is opening a new European office in Barcelona, further expanding its network internationally.

One of the highlights of the evening was a straightforward but effective visualisation of GRE's internal team structure, illustrating how broadly and how closely the company's different disciplines are connected across locations.

Many thanks to Markus Reypka, Jörg Meitzner and Simone Fricke for organising the event.
